It has been a little bit since I have written last. I promise to stay more in touch! The Artisan Group just gifted to none other than Celebrity Ryan Gosling, and I am honored to announce that I was one of the artisans selected to

be involved. I wanted something very manly, so leather was my choice. I found a beautiful rugged tan leather to use and I created a chunky leather journal with a braided waxed linen wrap for the closure.  I was able to have enough leather to create the exact journal three times. I have a few in the shop available for purchase.

They will not last long, so hurry. It is small enough to fit in a guys hand and rugged enough to show it off! Plus, Ryan Gosling has one too! Ahh, pinch me! I just gifted to Ryan Gosling…. And no, I didn’t write my phone number inside of it. My husband checked.

So it’s late in the afternoon and you have no idea what to cook for dinner! Not to worry, because Rachael Ray has  all the ideas you need to make the best meal in under 30 Minutes.

She just revealed on her talk show that she loves to keep all of her recipes close by in her collection of journals. You can imagine how excited I was to hear that The Artisan Group chose me to gift her a journal! Wahoo. Her favorite color is Orange. I designed this journal just for her on the go recipes. She can chunk this little baby in her purse without worrying about bending the pages.

You can own one too! I made two extra ones to sell in my Etsy shop, but hurry! There is only one left!

Allie Gonino, who is best known for her role in The Lying Games, stopped by the GBK Academy Award Gift Lounge to check out all the cool gift from The Artisan Group. She took a liking to my Large Heirloom Journal that was on display for the event.

Allie is one of many celebrities that received swag bags that held a little coptic journal from The Nib and Quill. So you can understand how exciting this is for me to share the news.

The Oscar’s are over, but the excitement is still buzzing! The GBK Celebrity Gift Lounge was buzzing with everyone falling in love with The Artisan Group Swag! Sasha Pieterse  stopped by! Sasha is best known for her role in Pretty Little Liars.

 

All the teenagers in the neighborhood are tickled to see that she took much interest in my Large Heirloom Journal! I have been having so much fun with The Artisan Group lately!

Look who stopped by the 2012 GBK Academy Awards Celebrity Gift Lounge! Tinsel Korey! She portrayed the Makah Emily Young in the Twilight Saga films New Moon and Eclipse. She will be returning as Emily Young in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. I have read all of these books and have watched all the movies a thousand times. So… I am over the moon that she chose my journal to take a closer look at!

I have a huge announcement! The Nib and Quill will be gifting a little Coptic journal to none other than Hollywood actress Ginnifer Goodwin. I wanted to take this time to tell you about a new group that I recently became involved with, The Artisan Group! The Artisan Group is a group of talented Artisans that are carefully selected to provide Celebrities and Members of the Press wonderful gifts at all the major events, such as the Oscars, The Primetime Emmy’ s and the Golden Globes. As you may have seen during the Emmy’s, Many Celebrities even pose with these beautiful gifts.

The minute that I joined, I was embraced with love and support. The guidance is truly amazing and I can’t say enough how friendly everyone is. It is more of a family than a group. I love hopping from shop to shop, from store to store looking at everyone’s items and goods. I am awe struck and honored to be included in this amazing group and really want to extend the invitation. I am over the moon to announce that my journals will be included in the Celebrity Swag Bags featured at the GBK’s Oscars Gift Lounge. My labels are in and the deadline is getting closer and closer…so much to do! Life moves very fast with the three children and their activities. My oldest son is busy driving here and there having recently obtained his license; my young lady is busy being a star in the school show choir and let’s be frank: a large amount of my mom energy is expended just trying to keep my youngest out of the dog’s water bowl! Any who, here is a sneak peek at my labels. I think that I have the perfect ribbon in mind to wrap around the gift boxes (Thanks Kiki!) Kids are asleep… deep breath… let’s start making little journals!

I have always been the crafty girl. I come from a long line of Artisans in my family so paint and scissors were always in the junk drawer of the kitchen. I now have about 4 of these drawers. Don’t worry, I clean them out to only one before Mama comes for a visit. My mom and I made tons of items to give as gifts and our bond grew strong. I have three of my own children now and try to incorporate arts and crafts in our daily lives; plus, it keeps them from screaming and yelling at each other. Well that’s not exactly true.

I became addicted to writing about my day. I use journals to vent, to plan, and to jot my new ideas down so I don’t forget. I got tired of the same plain ones at the big bookstores and took to learning how to make my own. First they were just for me. I decided to share my love of bookbinding and marched down to the best little local store in town, www.thepurplefern.com .  I opened my Etsy shop shortly after and haven’t looked back.
